Structural and Civil Engineering design for three single storey commercial buildings at Balthane Industrial Estate. A combined total of 43 units ranging from 1000sqft to 1350sqft.

Buildings were designed as braced frames using Tekla Structural Designer, resulting in a lightweight structure with minimal requirement for costly connections and providing robust protection in the event of fire.
Hard standings were designed for industrial traffic, and drainage was provided with oil separators and attenuated to prevent flooding of the local watercourse.
Challenges included foundations on historical fill, and the accommodation of an existing electrical substation within the footprint of one of the buildings.
